Refurbishing existing buildings makes sense environmentally, but the business case for refurbishment needs to be understood in order to encourage clients and developers to reconsider their approach.

Refurbishment workshop

Refurbishment workshop

A team from Hilson Moran will host this workshop, including Director of Sustainability Matt Kitson and contributors to a new research document endorsed by the British Council for Offices (BCO), entitled ‘Can do Refurbishment’. They will discuss the opportunities and incentives for refurbishment projects, the engineering and carbon benefits of refurbishing existing non-domestic buildings.  The session will provide the owners of office buildings, developers, architects, engineers, owner-occupiers and tenants considering refurbishment with the information they need to help make key decisions early in potential development projects.
