Solar Hub from Solarcentury will include the best of solar technologies for residential and commercial buildings, showcasing the many ways in which both solar PV and thermal can be incorporated into your development.

For residential buildings, Solarcentury will be showing their integrated C21e solar electric roof tiles and slates, allowing the seamless integration of PV into traditional pitched tile and slate roofs. C21e generates a high energy output while maintaining your existing roofline providing a premium PV solution.

From Sanyo you will see the latest in high-efficiency monocrystalline 215w HIT modules. Sanyo’s modules have a proven track record and are some of the most efficient available, an important consideration when choosing modules for use under the Clean Energy Cashback scheme. Sanyo’s modules will be shown integrated into a Solarcentury Sunstation, a simple solution allowing an “in-roof” installation and able to incorporate a variety of PV modules.

For commercial and agricultural installations the Solar Hub will showcase the Energy Roof from Solarcentury, using 230w polycrystalline modules from Yingli Solar. Solarcentury’s Energy Roof replaces existing roofing materials with solar modules providing a quick-to-install and completely integrated solution for large scale installations. In Europe the Energy Roof has been used to great effect to capitalise on the financial incentives available for solar installations and will be equally productive under the UK Clean Energy Cashback scheme.

While Yingli Solar may be a new name to many in the UK, Yingli have been designing, manufacturing and selling PV modules for over ten years and were the proud winners of a Euromoney and Ernst & Young Global Renewable Energy Award in 2009. Yingli produce modules that have high build-quality and reliability while remaining cost-effective, and are fully endorsed under the UK Microgeneration Certification Scheme.

For flat roofs, the Solar Hub will showcase NU 180w monocrystalline modules from Sharp mounted into Solarcentury’s Fast Sun system. Fast Sun is a flat-roof mounting system allowing fast installation on various roof types with maximum module density and minimal roof loading and penetrations. As the system is completely modular Fast Sun has been used on installations from 5 to over 5,000 PV modules.

Sharp have been involved in solar PV since the 1950’s and their modules have developed a deserved reputation for reliability and efficiency. As well as their 180w modules, Sharp will also be showing their latest NU 235w monocrystalline modules as part of a solar façade display. Sharp’s NU modules are particularly suited to high-yield systems providing reliable power even under demanding conditions.

Demonstrating that PV can also be used as a creative building material, the Solar Hub will include a PV cassette mounting system from Solarcentury. Using industry compliant components, the system allows PV modules to integrate with the fabric of the building, replacing conventional ventilated rainscreen façades and allowing architects to specify materials which generate electricity for use on-site.

The thermal elements of the Solar Hub are supplied by Vaillant, one of the leaders in solar thermal technology. Vaillant will be showcasing their auroTHERM Plus VFK150 flat plate collector and their auroTHERM exclusive VTK570/2 evacuated tube system, as well as their auroStore cylinder and associated control unit. Able to provide 50-60% of a household’s annual domestic hot water needs, Vaillant will be on-hand to help advise and answer all your solar thermal queries.
